Facebook now dominates, This is perhaps, nay almost certainly led to the death of those blogs as my little later (although it was mentioned during a court hearing!) but most recently updated.
You are not the same thing, the blog is something much more personal and much more customizable, but is not especially Facebook, where let's face it honestly most people subscribe to get the facts of others.
So why are still writing? I do not know yet, but keep a low profile even more, (I was never one of those who posted links to burst), I think Twitter is more immediate (check my status on the right) Meanwhile, a new post is made.
